Abstract:The structure and characteristics of IRNSS constellation were analyzed.Positioning accuracy is discussed by analysing dilution of accuracy. Based on availability of single point and constellation value, constellation availability is studied when constellation is normal or one of satellites is failure. Results show that the design of IRNSS navigation system is reasonable and it has a good regional coverage. About 10m positioning accuracy can be achieved in India and in the area outside with the extension of 2 000 km. The constellation structure has a certain redundancy as well as good stability.Given a limitation of PDOP 6,at least 95% availability can be achieved when one satellite is failure in these regions.
