Abstract:Bitemark analysis is important to forensic identity. The purpose of this study is to provide a workable solution for 3D bitemark analysis according to measurement principles. Firstly, it’s to obtain the 3D coordinate of the experimental bitemark and dentitions with a highprecision optical scanning system, to rebuild the 3D model with the reverse engineering software, to take the marked points, and to set up the simulative bitemark model by coordinate transformation.Secondly various parameters are calculated. Lastly, it’s to calculate the error limit and to ascertain that the weight of the various parameters and the final results of the identification are obtained by three statistical tests. After repeated testing, the solution is proved effective and accurate.
