Abstract:Downward continuation is one of the major parts in the postprocessing of airborne gravity data. The formulae of inverse Possion integral, iteration method and analytical continuation by FFT are introduced briefly, then observations of gravity disturbance at flight level which are simulated with gravity potential model EGM2008 are downward continued to geoid level with these mentioned methods. A conclusion is drawn that inverse Possion integral can obtain the best results when terrain effect is neglected.
