Abstract:Seismic waves of the Ms8.0 Wenchuan earthquake were compared which were recorded by Both of the strongmotion seismograph (SLJ100 accelerometer) and the seismograph (CTS1 seismometer) in Quanzhou Seismostation seismostationrecorded relatively complete seismic waves of Wenchuan earthquake (May 12, 2008). In order to carry out a comprehensive comparative analysis of two types of records, the author first does baseline correction and bandpass filtering in the 20 Hz~120 s by using SLJ100 accelerogram. The results show that: 1)Viewed from spectrum, strongmotion seismograph records and seismograph records are almost the same from the rangein of 0.012 Hz to 2 Hz. The differences lie in the lowfrequency and the highfrequency due to different instrument response and instrument noise respectively. 2)Viewed from wave form and relative displacement, the records of SLJ100 and CTS1 show relatively high consistency after baseline correction and band pass filtering. These indicate that from highaccuracyaccelerogram integral to speed and displacement trough baseline correction is feasible. The 300 s cycle relative displacement response spectrum shows that baseline correction does not introduce unacceptable long period noise.
