Abstract The principle and method of measuring the distance of free falling objects and its corresponding time intervals used in absolute gravimeter are introduced. The importance is that highprecision time measurement chips TDC502 is used to better the precision of time measurement,and combining the largescale integration of digital design, the precision of gravimeter system will be improved.
