Abstract The EW component of SS-Y tensometer at Yantai station began to show a rapid upward trend 2 days before the 2023-02-06 Türkiye M7.8 double earthquakes, and began to turn downward in the early morning of 2023-02-06, with a range of 9.58×10-8, and maintained a rapid upward trend after the earthquakes. The stability index of Yantai tensometer is judged and it is considered that the instrument is stable. After on-site verification, no environmental interference was found. Finally, the characteristics of the earth tide distortion are analyzed, and the relationship between the distortion and the distant earthquake precursor is discussed.
