Abstract The method of least squares collocation for making grid of discrete data was used to obtain the petlern of dynamic gravity changes. Comparing with the several commonly used interpolation methods, such as Kriging, the results show that the accuracy is as well as or slightly better than those with other methods, and the images are smooth relief and with flowlines. It is shown that this method can efficiently describe the morphological and characteristics of the dynamic changes of gravity field.
