Abstract The relative weight ratio taking fault slip characteristics into account was investigated when inversion with horizontal displacement, elevation changes and gravity variations.Numerical simulation experiments for the activities of the strikeslip fault, dipslip fault and extension fault are carried out respectively. The results show that:1)The relative weight ratio of the horizontal displacement plays a dominant role in the case of strikeslip fault; 2)The relative weight ratio of the elevation changes is bigger than the gravity change’s on the dipslip fault; 3)The relative weight ratio of gravity variations is biggest in the case of extension fault.
