Abstract On March 24, 2008, an ML4.6 earthquake occurred in Zhushan, Hubei province. We proposed that the earthquake is a normal seismic activity, based on the analysis of earthquake sequence, the distribution of the epicenter, the isoseismal map and the historical earthquakes. Similar to
ML4.0 earthquake in zhushan in 1988, this earthquake is of a typical sequence. Main earthquake and aftershocks all have conjugate characters. No precursory anomalies had appeared before the earthquake.
