STUDY ON WENAN EARTHQUAKE AND CHANGES OF REGIONAL STRAIN FIELD

Abstract The characteristics of regional strain field in the Capital Circle are studied by analyzing the strain data of continuous observation and the focal mechanism of small earthquakes. It shows that the direction of regional principal strain and azimuth of the principal compression stress axis turned synchronously before Wenan Ms5.1 earthquake since Apr. 2006 and the special scale of change was about 200 km.
