Abstract By using the 4periods observations of GPS seismic monitoring network in Fujian coastal area from 2003 to 2010, we calculate the velocities of GPS stations and the deformation velocity components of sites and strain field in Fujian area with the GAMIT/GLOBK software and an integralrotation linear strain model. The results are as follows: Fujian coastal area exhibits consistent southeastward movement, and the value is about 35 mm/a. The area near ShaowuHeyuan fault zone shows larger shear, and the junction of ZhengheHaifeng and YonganJinjiang fault zone shows smaller shear. The shear of ChangleZhaoan fault zone from south to north shows higher intensity in the north during early years, but higher intensity in the south thereafter. The principal strain field of the junction of ZhengheHaifeng and YonganJinjiang fault zone changes from compressive strain to tensile strain, and that of Fujian coastal area from northwest to southeast changes from tensile to compressive strain first, then compressive to tensile strain, and finally returns to compressive strain.
