Abstract In the case where the vertical gravity gradient is known, the g0 is the gravity acceleration value at the initial position (z=0) of the test mass. 〖JP〗In the case of unknown or not well-known local gradients, we proposed a simple equation to calculate the effective height of the test mass, which can be used in the conditions where the initial positions and initial velocities are not zero. Using these effective heights, we transfer the g-values to the zero position (z=0)| the resultant precision is better than 1 μGal.
