Abstract Using the National Institute of Metrology(NIM) designed iodine-stabilized He-Ne laser as a substitute for the FG5’s Winters Model 100 iodine-stabilized He-Ne laser, we do some experiments of comparison. The test results show the NIM’s iodine-stabilized He-Ne laser can properly work with FG5 absolute gravimeter, and the NIM’s iodine-stabilized He-Ne laser could totally take the place of the original Winters Model 100 iodine-stabilized He-Ne laser.
