ON AUTOMATIC INTERPRETATION OF FOCAL MECHANISMSOLUTIONS WITH COMPUTER

Abstract According to the basic principle of seismography and geology,drawing on the experimence of the earthquake predictors and the geologists and taking two microquakes in Badong area as examples,by use of the method of graphic recognition the automatic interpretation of focal mechanism solutions by computer in Visual Basic language is realized.The results show that the conclusion with this method is consistent with that with artificial method,and the former has more advantages such as higher accuracy, higher efficency.
