STUDY ON CHARACTERISTICS OF INTENSITY OF RESERVIOR-INDUCED EARTHQUAKE

Abstract By use of the intensity meterials of 27 reservoirinduced earthquakes in the world, the intensity attenuation laws of reservoirinduced earthquakes were investigated, and it is concluded that,in comparison with tectonic earthquake, the intensity of reservoirinduced earthquakes at low magnitude was higher than that of the tectonic earthquake. The large of the magnitude,the smaller of the difference between the intensities. In addition, reservoirinduced earthquakes have more characteristics such as shallower focus,quicker attenuation,and smaller influence area.
