RECOGNITION OF DISTURBANCE AND SEISMIC ANOMALY FROMTILT TIDE DEFORMATION AT CHONGQING SEISMOSTATION

Abstract The observations of the horizonal penbulum tiltmeter at Chongqing station since over 10 years before are arranged systematically.The feature,mechanism and magnitude of disturbance of temperature,rainfall,dewatering and loading variation are analyzed and summerized.The acting law of disturbance,the recoginition and elimination methods are determined.The anormalies recorded by the horizontal pendulum tiltmeter at Chongqing station on the 4th day before the M5.4 earthquake(1989-11-20) occured in Tongjing about 67 km away from the station are recoginited as the earthquake precursor.
