Abstract The principle and two calculating models of the baseisolated structure are introduced. Through a project example, the acceleration and the displacement response of top layer of a building with and without the baseisolated are simultaneously calculated with the Matlab time history analysis program. The computed results indicate that the baseisolated system used in the multistory building may effectively reduce the earthquake response of the structure.
