Abstract The observation data of water tube tiltmeter are collected at Yichang seismostation before and after the Ninth FiveYear Plan technical upgrade from 2007 to 2012.The results indicate that the instrument performance is improved, antiinterference and coseismic effects are enhanced obviously, and tidal factors of M2 wave and relative error of observation data are increasing slightly than the original level.However, because of the short time of the instrument technical transformation, the day drift of observation data increases slightly compared with the same period of previous years, and the observation system needs further stabilization.
