Abstract An improved searching algorithm of least independent closed loop and its forming conditions based on spanning tree and cotree were presented. Through program designing and verification with MATLAB, the goal of comparing and extract information of least independent loops automatically was realized. Results calculated with GPS control network data indicate that the loop information meets all requirements of least independent close loops.
