Abstract A new GM(1,1)model to analyze and predict the settlement of tunnel was established, based on Kalman filter. The analysis results of some examples show that the model can be used to eliminate efficiently the random error in original data so that the settlement curve was more smooth and more close to real settlement values than that by GM(1,1)model.
