Abstract On the basis of field investigation data along with related previous works we discussed the geological background, regional stress field, deep structural features, geomorphology and riversforms. Besides, the Wuduhe fault kinematics and fault activity were highly focused. TL dating data (76.43 ± 6.49) ka from the overlying Quaternary sediment samples confirm that the activity of Wuduhe fault zone fault is not obvious since late Pleistocene, which will provide some reference value to the Wuduhe fault zone seismic risk assessment and prevention of geological disasters in Three Gorges reservoir area.
