CALCULATION OF FOCAL DEPTH IN JIUJIANG-RUICHANG REGION BY USING sPn PHASE

Abstract The arrival-time difference between sPn and Pn is independent of epicentral distance, but only related to the focal depth and crustal model. We calculated the focal depth of two earthquakes occurred in JiujiangRuichang region in Jiangxi province with the method and the results show that it is feasible. The table of the arrivaltime difference between sPn and Pn and focal depth in JiujiangRuichang region was established based on the velocity model of the South China area.
