Abstract:Matrix singular value decomposition is used for studying the distribution of Singular Values of the observation equation coefficient matrix in inverting of fault dislocation parameters from measured displacement. The effect of relative position of surveying network to the fault on the inversion results has been studied. The results of simulative examples show that the surveying network should be distributed around the center of the fault monitored so as to improve the stability of inversion.
