Abstract:The disturbance patterns of the tiltmeter observation of VS and DSQ at Wuhan station during the period of “Tenth Five Year Project” were studied. It is found that the rainfall and other factors may have the serious effect on the tide distortions. By analyzing the abnormal phenomena of the tilt tide curves, it seems that above anomalies arised from rainfall osmosis bringing about the expansion of base rock. It can be seen that there is a close correlation between the tile tide aberration and rainfall. The disturbance curve configuration is complicated and of 3 types. On the view of time there is synchronization that the NS component of tilemeter trends to S as well as the EW component to W after the rainfall.On the view of quantity it is found that NS component is disturbed by rainfall more seriously than EW component as well as VS tiltmeter is disturbed by rainfall more seriously than DSQ tiltmeter.
