Abstract:Selecting the typical land subsidence area of Xi’an city as investigation subject, the influence of construction load on land subsidence was simulated from construction density, plot ration and distance between buildings with finite element model of elastic dynamics based on effective stress principle. The results show that the size of buildings and plot ration as well as the dispersion among buildings have diverse influence on land subsidence, while the load of city construction is one of the main factors that lead to the Xi’an land subsidence in the recent years.
